Aura is an international exhibition of contemporary jewellery
organised by the artists in order to bring their work directly to the people who will wear it.

The exhibition offers the opportunity to buy distinctive and original work directly from the artist.

We aim to raise awareness of the existence, desirability and quality of jewellery made in studios,
when the design and technical skills are all those of the same individual.
You will find our contact details on our pages, and we will be happy to give you more information about Aura,

This year the Aura exhibition will take place in the Long Gallery in Gray's Court , in the centre of York.
It will run from Friday October 15th - Sunday October 17th.

The first three exhibitions all took place in the beautiful Long Gallery in Burton Agnes Hall, between Driffield and Bridlington, thanks to the generosity of The Cunliffe Lister family, and especially Susan Cunliffe-Lister who bravely allowed us to put on the first Aura Exhibition in October of 2005.

It was arranged at short notice, with only a few weeks to prepare, but the response from the visitors was so positive and the venue so fitting, that we were delighted to follow it up for Aura2006 with a bigger exhibition including a group of nine artist/jewellers from The Netherlands, selected by Astrid Berens who is the organiser of The Sieraad Art Fair which takes place in Amsterdam every Winter. For Aura2007 Giò Carbone, the Director of Le Arti Orafe School of Jewellery in Florence selected an exciting international group of young artists to exhibit with us. Records of these exhibitions are still available to see on this site.

In 2008 it was decided to move Aura to York.
That year the venue for the exhibition was The King's Manor in the centre of the city.
